Hi! We are the Cornell Tech Student Government.

We aim to serve Cornell Tech by giving Master’s students a voice, representing student opinions, and maintaining tradition to enrich the overall quality of student life. We give student interest groups funding, put on events, and serve as the liaison between you and CT administration.

Burke Reimann
Co-President, Professional

Bio: Burke is originally from Chicago, IL, but has lived in Portland, Oregon; Austin, Texas; and Prague, Czech Republic. Prior to Cornell, Burke studied Economics and Statistics. After his undergrad, he started in tech consulting as he moved down to Austin to work in Big Tech. Later, he moved back to Chicago to work in a consulting firm. Burke is passionate about the intersection of music and technology, specifically, how generative engines will change the way the world becomes interactive with music.

Fun Fact: Very fortunately, I have been able to fly on Standby passes to around 40 countries. I love being on the road and budget traveling. Finding a fun hostel is my ideal trip!

 

 

Jacob Ioffe

Bio: Jacob graduated from Vanderbilt University with a B.S. in Computer Science, and minors in Math and Neuroscience. Positioned at the confluence of health and technology, he seeks practical solutions for intricate healthcare problems. During his time at Vanderbilt, he explored bioinformatics, with an emphasis on natural language processing for autism-related literature and advancements in genomic sequencing. Outside the lab, Jacob collaborated with Nashville’s neurodiverse and physically-limited communities, engineering open-source tools to help those with niche disabilities, but also allow access to others facing similar limitations. One notable project was his work with the Next Steps Vanderbilt program, where he developed an LLM-based communication application. Now, as the health tech representative in Cornell’s student government, Jacob’s primary goal is to strengthen the health tech program, fostering a closer connection with the Technion and broadening research opportunities for all.

Fun Fact: My proudest accomplishment is finishing a service trip for the Camp Boston-Sderot project, where our group provided a safe camp and summer of normalcy for neglected children that battle with PTSD and ADD living in the Gaza Strip. My campers were 9! And I got to be their counselor for a few consecutive years and watch them grow into young adults.

 

 

Nandini Proothi

Bio: Nandini graduated with an engineering degree in Information Technology from Manipal, India and previously worked at a fintech as a Data Engineer. Nandini is now interested in exploring the depths of user research and HCI and in the long term, plans on contributing to the accessibility provided to users in the birding space; by conducting more user studies, building better applications, and interfaces for ornithology labs across the 🌎

Fun Fact: I was a district level roller-skating champion for two years. I am also an avid birder (if you didn’t already guess), and really into mechanical keyboards so, hit me up if you want to conceptualize and build one together!

 

 

 

Yashwanth Mohanakrishnan

Bio: Yash is from Chennai, India! Like his name, his professional career is long. He designed and set up one of India’s largest notebook manufacturing factories. He then headed operations and digital sales for an agritech startup before moving to a HR tech company to lead their operations, business operations and product teams. He loves working and storytelling with data! He is passionate about cooking and data-driven and tech-enabled business strategy, in that order.

Fun Fact: He did a 700 mile off road motorbike trip in the Himalayas on a sportsbike!

 

 

 

Rowan Wu

Bio: Rowan is passionate about the application of technology and data science to make cities more equitable. She also loves planning fun events and socials to bring people together! Before coming to Cornell Tech, she worked in consulting advising public sector clients on economic development strategies, and at a civic nonprofit managing public programs. She majored in Urban Studies and Environmental Science at Barnard College, Columbia University. Rowan  grew up in the suburbs of Boston but has lived the last 9 years in New York.

Fun Fact: I’ve had my artwork stolen from a gallery wall in a coffee shop before, a watercolor painting of a pigeon. I also illustrate on the side, check out my work at rowanwu_art on Instagram!

 

 

Priyanshi Gupta
Diversity & Inclusion Chair

Bio: Priyanshi is a passionate technology enthusiast with a keen interest in creating impactful solutions for people’s everyday lives. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from India and is passionate for NLP, which has lead to research work and publications before her enrollment at Cornell Tech. Over time, she gained valuable industry experience by collaborating with renowned companies such as SYSTRAN, NVIDIA, and NOKIA, contributing to various NLP projects. During her undergraduate years, Priyanshi embraced an entrepreneurial spirit while actively participating in the early stages of an AI-powered fashion styling startup. Committed to leveraging technology for social good, she also founded and led the tech team at Enactus BVCOE. Her overarching goal is simple: to develop solutions that have a meaningful and positive impact on people’s lives.

Fun Fact: I love the water so much that, in fact, I used to write ‘I want to be a mermaid when I grow up’ in my diary when I was a kid.

Mathieu Kiriakos
LLM ’24 Rep

Bio: Mathieu has a bachelor’s degree, a JD and is originally from Montreal, Canada. He worked in a corporate law firm, where he developed a keen interest in technological innovation and AI regulation.  

Drawing on his experience in various projects, he has contributed to a number of research projects that have led to publications. His latest contribution, as part of a project in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), was aimed at developing practices to strengthen existing digital health structures in Mali.

In parallel with his studies, Mathieu is an avid trainer and outdoorsman. He’s always up for new backcountry camping destinations!

Fun Fact: I have been part of the scout movement for 15 years and have slept outdoors in below freezing temperatures multiple times

 

 

Ezra Cohen

Bio: Ezra is originally from Brazil but moved to the South of France at the young age of 8. Ezra attended NYU Stern undergrad, where he studied abroad in Shanghai and London. After graduating, Ezra worked at Mastercard for 3 years as a Product Manager, then decided to join Cornell Tech to pursue his passion for video games and how new technologies can help in the creation of interactive and exciting new games!

Hannah Jones

Bio: Hannah is a Chemical Engineer with an interest in applying ORIE to process improvement and manufacturing. She looks forward to planning social events and getting to know more students! Hannah previously worked as a product developer in the food industry and drug manufacturing in pharmaceuticals. Hannah recently graduated from Cornell and is originally from the Washington, DC area.

Bio: Tyler is an Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering Meng student who graduated from Berkeley in Spring 2023 in EECS. He looks forward to planning social events between the schools, and great parties. He is training to compete again in swim meets.

Fun Fact: I love freediving and spearfishing and have held my breath at one point for a full 75 yard swim.

Bio: Hey, I’m Dee! I hold a B.S. in Global Public Health-Sociology and a Master’s in Public Health from New York University. Currently, I’m pursuing a Dual Master’s of Science in Applied Information Science and Information Systems at Cornell Tech, specializing in Health Tech. Alongside my academic pursuits, I work full-time as a Senior Analyst in Data and Analytics and I’m the founder of an early-stage health tech venture. My passion lies at the intersection of health and innovation; ultimately, I seek to leverage my background in public health, entrepreneurship, and data to empower underserved communities and improve healthcare delivery.

In my role as Health Tech Program Representative, I want to create a tight-knit community within the program and foster a safe and inclusive space where students can voice their concerns, opinions, and ideas. I hope to drive positive change and have a meaningful impact not only within my program but the broader health tech field as well! 

Fun Fact: I learned how to flyboard in Dubai! My favorite food is Peanut Butter Cap’n Crunch.

Bio: Siyan graduated from Haverford with a bachelors in Mathematics in 2018. She then worked in Silicon Valley as a data and product analyst first and moved back to China to become a content writer afterwards. As the connective media representative this year, Siyan hopes to organize more social events to bond Cornell Tech students and the overall NYC community tightly and let people have fun! In her free time, Siyan is an active sports enthusiast and running her own podcast on women’s sports.

Fun Fact: My nickname is Hammer because I was a fantastic fighter when I was a kid and now I am still a kickboxer!

Bio: Jackie holds a bachelors in data science from the University of California, Berkeley and has a penchant for cities, their evolution, and the ways that they bring people together. Before starting at Cornell Tech, she worked for a French urban analytic startup while living in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, then in tech consulting as a data engineer. In her free time, she enjoys practicing new languages, dinner parties, and curling up with a nice book (ask her about what she’s reading!).

Bio:  Vikranth is originally from Kuwait but moved to India ever since 6th grade. Vikranth holds a bachelor degree in CS from VIT. He worked in Australia on sharks and drones and later on in different domains of supply chain and edtech before deciding to move to Cornell tech to pursue his interest in building products
